2012 ACDelco TSS/ACE Trade Show/Expo - January 19, 2012

The 2012 ACDelco Program Member Expo was a huge success! There were hundreds of program members in attendance, taking advantage of this great opportunity to check out what ACDelco is planning for 2012, having the chance to meet the ACDelco team, and getting to ask any questions that they may have regarding specific product lines or program details.

We had a ton of great giveaway prizes, including a $500 ACDelco parts certificate. All the displays looked great, and gave the attendees a chance to have a look at some sample products, and ask specific questions.

We are pleased to launch the new Fall Training Schedule for instructor-led classroom training.

The three courses available this fall are:
• Engine Performance: Advanced Drivability Diagnostics - S-EP08-05.01ILT-CA

Utilizing vehicles in class, online diagnostic simulations, and snapshot data, technicians will trouble-shoot advanced-level exercises, which combine engine operating data from fuel, air induction, emission, ignition, and control module systems. By applying the logical problem solving approach of Strategy Based Diagnosis (SBD), correctly interpreting scan data, and closely following service information, the technician will arrive at the correct diagnosis. The diagnostic cases represent actual vehicle diagnostic scenarios, which technicians will work through in small groups and document their problem solving approach.

• Duramax Diesel Operation and Diagnosis - S-EP08-81.01ILT-CA

This course covers the Duramax diesel engine evolution from 2001 to 2011, including the LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML, and LGH. An overview of the Duramax features and design changes for all engine applications are covered. Other topics of this course include the engine control management system, the fuel delivery system and the variable geometry turbocharger. Also highlighted are features of the aftertreatment system of the new Duramax engines: diesel oxidation catalyst; diesel exhaust fluid injection and mixer; selective catalyst reduction; diesel particulate filter and the exhaust cooler. Diagnosis and service procedures are included.

• Network Communication Diagnosis - S-EP06-04.02ILT-CA

The course includes enhanced CAN / GMLAN data network diagnosis, testing termination resistors, and voltage differential protocols using applicable tools. Added to the course is advanced parasitic drain testing factoring in Power Cycle times of the various On Star systems (Generation 6, 7 and 8), and how to determine the specific system. Technicians will work through a series of hands on exercises that involve newer BCM symptom DTCs (subtypes and categories) with the Functional Diagnostics format.

*ISC members will be charged at a rate of $275 per student per course for instructor-led classroom training.

New ACDelco Hydraulic Tensioners

ACDelco is pleased to announce the addition of Hydraulic Tensioners to the ACDelco line of belts and hoses. These parts are for applications with high loads and/or angular vibrations, where a mechanical automatic tensioner cannot provide sufficient damping or tensioner movement. New Products - ACDelco Belts

ACDelco is pleased to announce the availability of the Stretch Fit belts and Universal Installation Tool. Stretch Fit belts may look like standard V-ribbed belts but inside they are dramatically different. The secret is ACDelco TwistLock Technology – where the strength and flexibility of advanced polyamide tensile cord is surrounded by a specially formulated adhesive that literally locks on to the cord – allowing the cord to elongate and stretch but never lose tension.

As a result of these two highly valued loyalty options, both of which have very generous earnback components, we will be discontinuing our Real Rewards seasonal Installer program and redirecting those resources to ACDelco ACE.

Although ACDelco ACE has many benefits which you can take advantage of, the one major advantage to you joining is getting credit for all your purchases, all of the time, 365 days a year!

TIS/WIP Program

ACDelco is pleased to introduce the TIS/WIP program to Canada. This program allows ISC shops purchasing an Option 1 (TIS-ALL) TIS 2 Web subscription ($1,395 per year for all GM Tech 2 diagnostic software and calibrations) a chance to earn back some of their subscription fees.

ISCs will have the opportunity to earn up to $1,000 back on their Option 1 (TIS-ALL) subscription fee, based on their annual WIP processed purchases. At the end of 2011, qualifying customers will be sent a discount code to be used when re-subscribing in 2012 for TIS 2 Web ALL Subscription.

The earnbacks are outlined below:

To qualify, ISC shops must order more than the outlined minimum levels in ACDelco parts through WIP (Web Integrated Parts) in a given calendar year in order to participate in the program. ISCs can also combine their purchases from multiple Distributors to count toward this TIS 2 Web ePromotion, as well as all the GM Service Information (eSI) discounts.

To combine multiple accounts, ISCs simply select the “Tools” tab and then select “Account Profile”. Once inside the Account Profile, select “Link Accounts” and enter the applicable WIP account number(s) to be combined. Once this process is complete, it does not need to be repeated for future promotions.

To ensure your ISC shops can take advantage of this excellent opportunity, each Distributor will need to enroll in the WIP program.

Once enrolled in the WIP program, ISCs using WIP must click on the TIS 2 Web All Access promotional link within the promotional dashboard to go to the registration site and complete the registration details.

ACDelco Reman Starter and Alternator Line upgrades

Update: ACDelco announces the addition of 186 part numbers to its Professional Reman Alternators and Starters

ACDelco continues to provide high quality parts for all your repair needs. We recently made significant quality improvements to the ACDelco Reman Starters and Alternators line.

The upgraded ACDelco Remanufactured All Makes Starters and Alternators feature:

- New solenoids on many top-selling starters

- New regulators on many top-selling alternators
